Piviotal Profile

Tartan Group uses a rigorous process that starts with thorough understanding of the organization, position, challenges and prerequisites necessary for candidate success by developing a multidimensional candidate profile, which includes education, job experiences and other key characteristics. With our experience inside of performance organizations and an understanding of organizational psychology, we draw parallels to the meticulous approach of an FBI profiler, we delve deep into the intricacies of each role. We consider not just the qualifications but the subtle nuances of skills, experience, and culture.

We incorporate a deep understanding of how the position will impact the organization's strategy.  We outline thorough explanations of role expectations and key attributes for candidate success into a detailed candidate profile document to ensure internal stakeholder clarity and alignment. This profile clarity, including the subtle nuances, enables us to achieve highly targeted search results. We seek input and alignment with all key stakeholders.

We incorporate this detailed information into the development of the custom onboarding plan (step 4).

AVOIDING WRONG FIT HIRES

Our Wrong Fit Firewall vetting method enables us to avoid any prospects that appear to be strong but may in fact be a wrong fit hire saves our clients valuable resources.  We work to ensure the right fit.  This critical process step prevents a wrong fit for both the client and candidate.

“If you can look into the seeds of time and say which grain will grow and which will not”.

This line was delivered by Banquo in Act 1, Scene 3 of Shakespeare's Macbeth (1606). Banquo spoke to three witches who he felt could prophesize about the future.   

A farmer planting a field must choose seeds that will germinate and grow.  The selection and investment in the seeds are important to a successful crop. The failure of a crop can have costly consequences and can take several years to recover. The ability to identify good seeds from bad in Shakespeare’s time was a matter of survival.   

The ability to look ‘into the seeds of time’ and predict the future capabilities of a candidate is an acquired skill. The bigger the role the more sizable the consequences for both success and for failure. Being able to see the alignment of the “The Pivotal Fit®” is vitally important when adding a new hire to the organization. Avoiding a bad hire can be invaluable to an organization. We use a Wrong Fit Firewall to reduce the selection of a bad hire.

On client has labeled me a “Unicorn Hunter”. I use a creative sourcing approach to enable us to find and advance the candidates with the unique combination of skills, experience and cultural fit necessary to be a good fit and be successful. We use advanced sourcing techniques developed and refined with experience to identify and attract talent.

ENSURING ONBOARDING SUCCESS

Onboarding can make or break the success of new hires. Companies with strong onboarding processes have statistically better employee retention and productivity levels. The cost of a single failed executive level manager can be as high as $2.7 million. We ensure successful retention and shorter ramp up time to performance through accelerated orientation and effective team engagement in a 90-Day custom onboarding process. This onboarding support is included as a part of our search service.

We transform key leaders into masters. Our process is to partner with the executive to identify the goals and approach developmental opportunities / barriers to help them make critical adjusts.  These small but critical skill adjustments can be transformational in an executives ability to lead and deliver results.
